Two letters left behind by Y'Roden before he chose death, the first containing a wedding band and an end to his marriage. The second containing a plea to leave him to his peace, and a bittersweet goodbye to his first love.

Arianne,

You are angry, I’m sure I can hear you raging from here. Please just let me go quietly into the dark, it is the second last thing I ask of you. I return to you what was given, and set you free. You have so much more strength than you give yourself credit for, and I have never done you justice. You deserved a better man than I, someone who could have given you their whole heart, all of their soul, and made you the centre of their universe.

I’m not that man, I wish I was, but I never would have been. I will always love you Thorn, I hope you can find it in yourself to believe that. I cannot erase the mistakes I’ve made, and perhaps, truth be told, I wouldn’t, even if I could. A man is the summation of his choices, I’ve accepted that. It has brought me here, and I have so many memories to sustain me in the silence. The last thing I ask of you, is to be strong for our children. They will need you more than ever now. B’Rodyn will see that you all have everything you need. He is a good man, trust in him as I would and he will never lead you astray.

Live life, be what you were meant to be.

Love Always,

Ro.

Ghettie,

I know what you are thinking, but wasn’t that always the way?

Don’t.

Leave me to my peace my Sweet Torment. You know why I have done this, I can’t risk hurting them. As long as I am here, they are safe.

I will always love you Ghettie, you were the first, and Gods, perhaps you should have been the only. Or perhaps, I should never have loved at all. Yet, I can never regret my children, and I can never regret the time we had together, no matter how it ended. Watch over our Joy. Embrace life with the exuberance that makes you so damn irresistible, and remember me once in awhile.

Love,

Rodi
