Val is the Head of the House of Phoenix. Unlike most Ancients, he is active within his House, still leading them. The reason for this is their near destruction at the hands of another House. The eldest of the Phoenix', the purest of blood, Val is struggling to restore them to their former glory. So far, he has had quite a bit of success.
An Ancient Vampyre he is chronologically about ten thousand years old, a child of Atlantis. His Maker was Phoenix himself, at a later time it was Valentine that conspired and ultimately ordered his death. His real name is not Valentine, but he will not reveal his true title to anyone.
