The twins are a result of Ro and Ghet's conscious choice to have a child despite the Demon DNA tainting Y'Roden's genetics. Medical implants were meant to strip the Demon genes, but the aggressive D'Riel gene starting eating away at the implant, resulting in one child with the Demon gene, and another that is a genetic 'throwback'. R’Avyen has the Demon Gene.
