Keser is the head of House Datari, one of the high-ranking Silver families of Aerdon. To say he is resistant to an alliance with Araxmarr Sar'Da (aka Callan Blackthorn) would be understating the matter in the extreme.
Family is important to Keser, but politics seem to matter more. His hatred of Callan Blackthorn drove him to disown his own son and heir, Delen Datari, and since he can't let an assassin of Delen's caliber roam free, he has set assassins on his tail to 'take care' of the problem.
