Related to the D’Riels/Modars and a supporter of both thrones, he descends from a line that at one point, married into the Royal Family of Modar. A great ancestor was the Grandmother of Y'Roden, An'Thaya and B'Elya D'Riel.
Currently, (in timelines after Hells Fire) Gardor is the Regent of Corin, watching over Valin and Anaya D'Riel's children until Va'Lan comes of age to take the throne himself. The Regency will likely fall to Gardor's son, as it will be several centuries until the Elven Prince is of age.
During Hell's Fire, Gardor began his relationship with Deirdre as a formal inquiry for marriage. During the course of courting her, however, he fell in love. He married her soon after. When Valin died, he took up the reigns of Regent and handed the title of High Lord to his son. A process that was reversed a few years later when Valin returned from the dead. Brenn was given the title of Lord Wyvern Minor and a chunk of land.
