Elyen Ilandar, a High Elf An'Thaya had known almost as long as Galain. He gently lifted her up when she was broken, giving her love without asking anything in return. They formed a bond in darkness, despite the fact that Galain was his best friend. It was a love that had been growing over time, but they both denied. When she died... his love brought her back.
There was only Elyen... and the future.

Not long after her return Thaya discovered she was pregnant...
On a quest to find a friend she was exposed to the Elen Aeglos stone... and it was then An'Thaya rediscovered her past.
The child she carried was not Elyen's... or at least, not his alone. She was half dragon, the genes passed down from Galain Alcarin. The Stone caused the child to hatch prematurely, and the Amazon's memories came streaming back in. Unable to rebond with her first love, she left the past behind, yet her daughter she gave over to Galain's sister Summerlin. An'Thaya's Uncle Tallin craved Anelain's power, which was heightened by those of her two fathers. Somehow in the dark times Galain's DNA had become integrated into the child, and Anelain took after him in most ways... A six short centuries of quiet love was all that was theirs...
Perhaps a few stolen moments of something that was never meant to be. An'Thaya loved him yes.... but in Elyen's heart he never believed she had truly let go of Galain. He was right... and perhaps it is her fault their love died.
Elyen was taken by the Elen Witch Saya Nalhrin, a force they had encountered before... and thanks to the Amazons betrayal with Galain, he fell into Saya's darkness all to easily. His fall from grace was so complete there was no going back, the love they shared shattered, and the Fates had their way. He died on the edge of Galain's blade and lies buried in a tower on Berelath.

With These Eyes - Roch Voisine

With these eyes
I've held you in my arms
And love was all I had
But you had to end it all
With these eyes
I've stood out in the rain
I've listened for your call
That never came at all

With these eyes you're everything to me
Without your love I'd wind up down upon my knees
With these eyes I've learned from my mistakes
That a sad song doesn't care whose heart it breaks

With these eyes
I'm feeling out of touch
I've waited patiently
for you whose love I miss so much
With these eyes
I've watched you turn away
with nothing left to give
and nothing more to say

With these eyes you're everything to me
Without your love I'd wind up down upon my knees
With these eyes I've learned from my mistakes
That a sad song doesn't care whose heart it breaks

And though my love for you runs so deep
it doesn't mean that you and I are sharing the same dream
If only i could listen to your words and not my heart
you're trying to spare my feelings but you're tearing me apart

With these eyes you're everything to me
Without your love I'd wind up down upon my knees
With these eyes I've learned from my mistakes
That a sad song doesn't care whose heart it breaks

That a sad song doesn't care whose heart it breaks
